Kuker Kasau di Madiun, Kasau : Gantikan F5 Tiger II TNI AU Siapkan Sukhoi Su-35

MADIUN, DISPENAU.

The physical delivery of 3 ordered Israeli-made ELM-2288ER Air Defense & Air Traffic Control Radar AD-STAR for Philippine Air Force (PAF) is completed with arrival of final 2 radars, MaxDefense Philippines said.

The Philippines ordered 3 ELM-2288ER radars from Elta Systems via government-to-government negotiation with Israel under the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Modernization Program Horizon 1. The first radar for Paredes Air Station in Ilocos Norte was delivered 4th quarter of 2017.

Air Force commander Lieutenant General Rozzano D. Briguez said during Senate session on January 16 that their radar system already covers the northern portion of the country.

“In nine months time, I think the radar system in Mount Salakot will be up and running,” Briguez also noted that time.

MaxDefense said that “by now it is expected that both radars should already have been installed, although there could be integration works still ongoing, and its highly possible that both radars are not yet operational. It may take some more time, maybe a few more months, before the radar systems are ready and integrated into the Philippine Air Defense Control Center.”

New "Peregrine" electronic warfare aircraft for Air Force

Minister for Defence, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP and Minister for Defence Industry, Senator the Hon Linda Reynolds CSC, today announced the acquisition of four modified Gulfstream G550 aircraft – to be designated the MC-55A “Peregrine” - for the Royal Australian Air Force.

Minister Pyne said the $2.46 billion acquisition would enable Defence to actively strengthen electronic warfare support to naval, air and land forces for operations in complex electromagnetic environments.

"The Peregrine is a new airborne electronic warfare capability that will be integrated into Defence's joint warfighting networks, providing a critical link between platforms, including the F-35A Joint Strike Fighter, E-7A Wedgetail, EA-18G Growler, Navy’s surface combatants and amphibious assault ships and ground assets to support the warfighter,” Minister Pyne said.

“The aircraft will be based at RAAF Base Edinburgh in South Australia – yet another piece in a broader Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance precinct being developed at the Super Base, which is already home to our Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft. RAAF Base Edinburgh will also serve as the headquarters for our unmanned Tritons and armed unmanned Reaper variant.”

"This capability and the people who operate it will bring Air Force a step closer to becoming a fully networked fifth-generation force and further exploit the joint combat multiplier effects on exercises and operations," Minister Pyne said.

Minister Reynolds said the Liberal National Government remains committed to opening up new opportunities for Australian small and medium enterprises in the defence industry.

“About $425 million will be spent with Australian companies during the acquisition phase of the project, including $257 million to be invested in new facilities at RAAF Base Edinburgh,” Minister Reynolds said.

“There will be further significant opportunities for Australian industry, estimated to be over $2 billion, in the sustainment of the aircraft over the 25 years life-of-type.”

The Royal New Zealand Navy's (RNZN's) future hydrographic and diving support vessel, which will be known as HMNZS Manawanui once commissioned, has received its service livery and begun a series of sea trials off the coast of Denmark.

The trials are being used to confirm that naval equipment on board the ship are performing as expected, the RNZN said via its official social media account on 15 March. Images of the vessel accompanying the post indicate the hull number as A 09, although the ship's original name, Edda Fonn , is being retained until closer to its commissioning ceremony.

The 85 m vessel arrived in Frederikshavn, Denmark, from Norway in February, according to data from IHS Markit's Maritime Portal. It was previously in service as a commercial offshore support vessel and had arrived in Denmark to be fitted out according to RNZN requirements.

Edda Fonn was acquired by the New Zealand government in 2018 for NZD103 million (USD70 million). It was procured to fulfil operational gaps in the RNZN's diving support and maritime survey capabilities following the retirements of its hydrographic ship HMNZS Resolution in 2012 and dive tender HMNZS Manawanui in 2018.

Edda Fonn is 84.7 m long, has an overall beam of 18 m, a hull draught of 6.3 m, and is equipped with a 100-tonne salvage crane. Powered by four diesel-electric engines driving two azimuth propulsion systems, the 5,700-tonne vessel can reach a top speed of 13 kt.

The vessel can accommodate a core crew of 39, with 27 more bunks for mission-specific personnel.

Keduanya sepakat untuk meneken kontrak pembuatan kapal patroli AL dengan penggunaan bahan plat alumunium dengan spesifikasi desain; length over all (LOA) 28,98meter (m), length between perpendiculars (LBP) 26,44m, breadth moulded 06,20m, depth moulded 03,15m, draft moulded 01,40m, speed 28 knot(kt), cruising speed 18 kt, power 2 x 1900 Horse Power (HP), fresh water tank capasity 4 meter kubik (m3), fuel tank capasity 15 m3, complement 15 person (p).

ATMOS 2000 self propelled howitzer (photo : RTA)

According to Thai media, from now to 2020 the country's military needs at least 36 ATMOS 2000 complexes to serve the requirement of modernizing the artillery force.

The military has started operating the self-propelled ATMOS 2000 assembly line transferred by Israel.

The technology transfer contract and the assembly plant are signed by the two countries from 2018 and have a total value of up to 26 million USD. Under this contract, Thailand will buy another 6 ATMOS 2000 units to complement the existing self-propelled guns of the same type.

In the past, Thailand used to buy 18 self-propelled ATMOS 2000 guns but failed to master the assembly technology to be able to produce it locally.

Under the contract disclosed, Israel will provide components with the main guns, including the chassis system and the main cannon. Other sub-parts will be manufactured and manufactured by Thailand.

The ATMOS 2000 self-propelled gun is currently considered the most efficient self-propelled self-propelled gun in the world today. Not only with modern design, ATMOS 2000 is also nearly automated and fully electronic when only 4 operators are needed.

Thai media also said that the military itself said it needed a minimum of 36 2000 ATMOS complexes to meet its current needs.

The ATMOS 2000 self-propelled gun complex was born in 2001 with a maximum firing speed of up to 9 tablets per minute and currently there are about 10 countries in the world owning this self-propelled cannon.

Thailand is currently the first and only country in Southeast Asia that owns the self-propelled ATMOS 2000 produced by Israel.

What is special is that even in your home country, self-propelled artillery ATMOS 2000 is not until 2017 - that is, 16 years after its birth, it is equipped for the Israeli Army.

BRP Sultan Kudarat (PS-22) will be Retired?

Is the Philippines Navy's BRP Sultan Kudarat (PS-22) Next on the Retirement Queue?

MaxDefense received a shoulder tap lately that another major surface ship of the Philippine Navy will be retiring soon.

Based on the information we received and validated by different sources, the next ship on the axe is the Malvar-class patrol vessel, BRP Sultan Kudarat (PS-22).

The ship was suppose to have its major dry-dock works last 2017, but apparently it did not happen. And now the Philippine Navy leadership decided to just retire it as part of the PN’s Sail Plan 2020, which aims to retire all its World War 2-era warships and surface assets by 2020.

Out of practicality, the US handed-over the ship to the Philippine Navy in April 1976, and was named RPS Sultan Kudarat (PS-22). She is considered one of the oldest fighting ships in service anywhere in the world, being in service for more than 74 years now, 43 years of it with the Philippine Navy.  She currently serves with the Philippine Fleet’s Offshore Combat Force.

For now, all we can do is wait for the Philippine Navy to actually retire the BRP Sultan Kudarat from active service, and hope that they would have a good news to bring once they do the retirement. Replacing them with another Pohang-class corvette or Hamilton-class cutter would be very much welcomed.

Russians are Trying to Squeeze Out Ukrainian Weapons from Indonesia

Comrade Petukhov strongly warns the Indonesian Marshal against placing in Ukraine orders for the repair of aircraft, including the AL-31F engines for the Su-27. Petukhov said that the certification of Ukrainian enterprises for compliance with the current technical documentation was not made.

Changes and additions to the documentation available at these enterprises, including the AL-31F engine, have not been made since 1991. It is separately emphasized that the Russian side "will not be able to bear responsibility for the operation of such aircraft."

Pavel Bukin, General Director of the Ukroboronprom Group of Companies, considers the assertion about the developer’s exclusive right to influence the maintenance of the implemented aviation technology to be dubious and confirms attempts to put pressure on Ukraine by the Russian Federation.

“Such letters are an attempt to oust Ukraine from promising international markets,” says the head of the concern. Our country is a strong player in the market for repairing, maintaining airworthiness and modernizing aircraft, including those developed in other states. the plant "Motor" performs a contract for the repair of aircraft engines for the Indonesian Air Force. Therefore, the Russians are trying to put pressure on Ukraine’s friends and partners in Indonesia and other countries.

We have the necessary technical documentation for the maintenance and overhaul, the extension of the flight range of military aircraft of a wide model range - MiG, Sukhoi, Ilyushin, Mil, Kamov. Such rights are not retroactive, and the Russian Federation has no legal basis for requiring additional licensing from Ukraine.

In matters of military aviation regulation, each country-operator establishes its own rules and makes changes to its design. A marker of its independence is the sufficiency of the scientific, technical, design and production potential. Complaints of developers or manufacturers, in this case Russian, are irrelevant.

Let me also remind you of the double standards of the Russian Federation. There, a number of steps were taken in terms of promoting the repair and modernization of the An-family aircraft in the external markets. The Russian Federation approved a general decision of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which defines the institutions responsible for the design support in the operation of Ukrainian-made aircraft."
